Coffi Bore is on different days and times so that you can find a slot that suits you. Plan ahead with these provisional dates:

The Caffi Bar will be open for an hour  for a gentle chat session. We keep things light and informal, and you can choose how much or how little you want to interact before you start (see below)

You are welcome to join for the whole hour, but Coffi Bore is timed so that people who are working can drop in for 10 minutes during their morning break. Having a 10 minute 'bonus dose' of Welsh most weeks will be a massive boost to your confidence! The time and day varies from week to week, so if you can't make the slot one week, you may be able to make it the next. 

This is a chance for you to use your Welsh, whether all you have is a greeting and an apology, or you are fluent and just wanting to chat.

NEW for 2024: When the Caffi Bar opens, as well as the 'main' conversation, there will be breakout rooms (like separate tables) already open. If you want to have your own conversation(s) with a friend, feel free to sit at your own table!

The level you are at is EXACTLY what you need.

 When you join us, you will put a name and a number in the  'name' box. We will call you by your name, funnily enough, and will treat you according to the number you put, as follows:

1.  You are just listening. We may talk to you, but you will not be expected to answer (of course, you can if you want). There is ABSOLUTELY NO PRESSURE for you to do anything but listen.
2. You are terrified of talking, but want to have a go anyway. We’ll keep it simple, and you will quite possibly still not understand, and freeze, and forget all your words. Don’t worry.
3. You’re a bit nervous of talking, but willing to have a go. We’ll keep it simple, and you will quite possibly still not understand, and freeze, and forget all your words. Don’t worry.
4. You are reasonably comfortable talking, and happy to join in. We’ll go as complicated as you want, and you will quite possibly not understand, and freeze, and forget all your words. Don’t worry.
5. You are showing off… 

The idea of the numbers is NOT to show how 'good' your Welsh is, but how happy you are to use it. You may be a 3 one week, and a 1 the next! When you are comfortable with being a bit uncomfortable, you will instantly become a Welsh speaker.

You will need a Zoom link. To avoid spammers and other unpleasantness, I send out a link by email usually the night before. Once you are on the list, you will get a link before every Coffi Bore instance, but you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link in the email.

Coffi Bore is totally informal, and the exact format will change from week to week depending on all sorts of things.

Generally, we try to keep to small groups, so we split into 'break-out rooms' (the equivalent of individual tables in a real caffi), sometimes themed, or sometimes just for people to have a chat with friends rather than taking part in the general melee.

Our only aim is to give you the chance to socialise and enjoy yourself in Welsh.
